SASK AI EXPO

Code of Conduct
Sask AI Expo | April 27, 2026 | Prairieland Park, Saskatoon

Welcome to the Sask AI Expo. We're building the future of AI in Saskatchewan — and we'd prefer to do it without the dystopian bits.

This Code of Conduct applies to all participants at the Sask AI Expo, including attendees, speakers, panelists, sponsors, vendors, exhibitors, volunteers, staff, and guests. It covers all Event spaces: sessions, the Expo Hall, networking areas, workshops, online channels, and any affiliated social gatherings.

By attending or participating in the Event, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. AiSK reserves the right to enforce these standards at its sole discretion.

1. Our Commitment

AiSK exists to Amplify, Attract, Convene, build Community, Educate, and Engage. That mission only works when every person in the room feels safe, respected, and welcome — whether you're a seasoned AI researcher, a curious student, a government policymaker, or someone who just wants to know what all the fuss is about.

2. Expected Behaviour

All participants are expected to:

  • Treat every person with dignity, courtesy, and respect regardless of background, identity, or level of technical expertise
  • Engage in constructive, good-faith dialogue — even when you disagree (especially about whether AI will take over the world)
  • Respect the personal space, boundaries, and consent of others
  • Use inclusive and welcoming language free of slurs, derogatory terms, and discriminatory remarks
  • Be mindful of the volume and content of your conversations in shared spaces
  • Follow all instructions from Event staff, venue personnel, and security
  • Report any concerns or incidents promptly to AiSK staff or volunteers
  • Respect the intellectual property and presentations of speakers and exhibitors — ask before recording

3. Unacceptable Behaviour

The following conduct will not be tolerated under any circumstances:

  • Harassment, intimidation, stalking, or threatening behaviour of any kind
  • Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, national origin, or any other protected characteristic
  • Unwelcome sexual attention, inappropriate physical contact, or sexually suggestive comments or imagery
  • Deliberate disruption of sessions, presentations, workshops, or other Event programming
  • Unauthorized recording, photography, or livestreaming of sessions or individuals (especially minors) without consent
  • Possession of weapons, illegal substances, or any item that poses a safety risk
  • Doxing, sharing private information about others without their explicit consent
  • Retaliating against any person who reports a Code of Conduct concern
  • Using Event spaces or platforms for unauthorized commercial solicitation, political campaigning, or activities unrelated to the Event program

4. Youth & Vulnerable Participant Safety

The Sask AI Expo is open to participants of all ages, including students and youth. All participants must:

  • Ensure interactions with minors are appropriate, professional, and visible to others
  • Never photograph, record, or collect personal information from minors without written guardian consent
  • Report any concerns about the safety of a minor or vulnerable person immediately to AiSK staff

AiSK takes youth safety extremely seriously. Concerns involving minors will be prioritized and may be reported to relevant authorities.

5. Privacy & Data Respect

All participants must respect the privacy of others in accordance with PIPEDA and AiSK's privacy guidelines:

  • Do not collect, store, or use personal information from other participants without their informed consent
  • Do not share attendee lists, contact details, or badge information for marketing or commercial purposes
  • Respect "no photo" lanyards or badges and always ask before taking someone's picture
  • Any data collected at booths or activations must be handled in compliance with Canadian privacy law

6. Reporting Concerns

If you experience or witness behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it by:

  • Speaking directly with any AiSK staff member or volunteer (identified by branded lanyards)
  • Visiting the AiSK Registration & Information Desk
  • Emailing kaitlyn@aisk.ca (monitored during the Event)
  • Calling or texting 306.502.4520

All reports will be treated with discretion and confidentiality to the extent possible. You will not face retaliation for making a good-faith report.

7. Enforcement & Consequences

AiSK staff will assess all reported incidents and may take any action deemed appropriate, including:

  • A verbal or written warning
  • Removal from a specific session, area, or activity
  • Expulsion from the Event without refund
  • A ban from future AiSK events
  • Referral to venue security or law enforcement

AiSK's determination of a violation is final. Enforcement decisions will be made in the interest of maintaining a safe, inclusive, and productive Event environment.

8. A Note on AI Ethics

We're here to explore AI — including the hard questions about bias, safety, jobs, and what happens when machines get really, really good at things. Disagreement is welcome. Passionate debate is encouraged. But we expect every conversation to be grounded in mutual respect and intellectual honesty. The robots may not have feelings yet, but the humans in this room certainly do.

9. Acknowledgement

By attending the Sask AI Expo, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.
